The Directory Women in the Lead / Femmes de Tête is a 1172-page national directory of more than 600 women whose professional expertise and experience recommend them as candidates for corporate board appointment.

It has been assembled, edited, and published by Doreen McKenzie-Sanders, C.M., an award-winning editor and former journalism professor who has had a long career in the field of business writing and publishing.

This fourth edition of the directory provides a unique source of untapped talent for those seeking people highly qualified for board appointment. They will find it timely, informative, and exceedingly useful in their search. Women based in Quebec have their résumés appearing in English and French.

  The hardcover book contains one-page profiles of each woman, listing career accomplishments and background. These competent women have been selected from a large number of submissions by an advisory committee, using rigorous criteria.

  All names are indexed by Sector, by Province, by Language and by the Boards women are currently serving on, or have served on. The more than 200 women based in Quebec have their resumes published in both English and French.

  As the summary of their careers show, the women listed in this directory have vast experience in a variety of sectors including law, medicine, healthcare, engineering, higher education, business, technology, media, government, academe, and entrepreneurial and not-for-profit organizations.

  They hold senior-level positions, and many have advanced degrees from leading universities worldwide. In addition to English, many speak a variety of languages, from Arabic to Yiddish. As a reflection of the cultural diversity, 35 languages are represented.

  The women listed are leaders in their work and communities and will certainly be counted among the outstanding Canadians with power and influence, now, and in the future.
